Lives of castles

Military, Renaissance Pleasure, castles Lot have the stamp. All in red sandstone, Castelnau-Bretenoux is a fortress of the Middle Ages, rebuilt in the 15th century on a promontory close to the valley of the Dordogne, it looks great. The interior was decorated in neo-Gothic style by the former owner, a tenor opera-comique. In summer, it hosts the opera festival of Saint-Cere.
Montal Castle is a Renaissance jewel, also located in the valley of the Dordogne. Its courtyard has a superb Italian decor. It is the work of a woman, Jeanne Montal, who had built in memory of his son.
The towers of Saint-Laurent watch over the city of Saint-Cere. Remains of a medieval castle, they delighted Lurçat: he made his home and workshop of tapestry. It is here that wove The Song of the world.
